Art in Portugal Modern and Contemporary Art

In the context of the exhibition Obra Convidada - Guest Work the MNHA organizes a series of lectures on art in Portugal. Entitled Art in Portugal - An Analysis of Portuguese Art Collections, the series started with Anísio Franco, curator at the Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga in Lisbon and is continued by Delfim Sardo with a lecture on Portuguese modern and contemporary art.
Delfim Sardo is a professor at the University of Coimbra. He is president of the International Association of Art Critics in Portugal and curated the Lisbon Architecture Triennale in 2010. Since 1990, Delfim Sardo has been a contemporary art curator, and has published extensively on the subject. A former consultant of the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, he curated the Portuguese pavillion at the 48th Venice Biennale.
