In 2007, the MNHA acquired an imposing coloured leaded-glass window that had adorned the staircase of a private home.

This 1903 work is signed by Pierre Linster, who in 1891 established Luxembourg's first workshop for artistic leaded glass in Mondorf-les-Bains; it represents a stylistic and technical turning point in the art of leaded glass.

The window presents a naturalistic landscape consisting of precisely drawn plant, architectural and animal elements surrounded by a frame with stylised Art nouveau plant motifs.

It also combines traditional techniques such as grisaille painting with late 19th and early 20th century innovations like printed laminated glass or opalescent glass.
